# Documentation troubleshooting

> Resolve missing repositories, stuck generation, stale docs, AGENTS.md state, export, Timeline, Slack, and permission problems.

| Symptom                         | Check                                                                   |
| ------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Repository is missing           | Git connector, repository scope, and **Code Management** sync           |
| Generate Docs is unavailable    | Role, repository access, and active generation                          |
| Generation is stuck             | Repository size/state, service status, and concurrent run               |
| Generated content is inaccurate | Source branch, stale code, missing context, and ownership review        |
| Update does not change content  | Last repository change, branch, and completed status                    |
| Auto-sync does not run          | Enabled state, weekly/monthly schedule, day/date, and connector         |
| AGENTS.md status is unexpected  | Target folder, repository file, last sync, and conflicting ownership    |
| Timeline is empty               | No completed event, filter, generation state, or workspace availability |
| Markdown export is broken       | Completed generation, file links, and download policy                   |
| Notion export fails             | Connector, destination permission, parent page, and write behavior      |
| Confluence export fails         | Connector, space/page access, and destination                           |
| Slack notification is missing   | Workspace, channel, bot membership, and configured channel              |

## Safe recovery

* Preserve the last known-good export.
* Disable auto-sync while investigating overwrites.
* Reauthenticate the destination connector.
* Run a manual update on a pilot repository.
* Regenerate only when the current docs are backed up and the owning team agrees.
* Do not delete the repository or target folder as a troubleshooting shortcut.

Include workspace, repository, branch, generation or sync timestamp, target folder, destination connector, expected status, actual status, and redacted error.
